The Streak Is Over

The S&P 500 closed today at 2,581.88. This is the first time in 21 months that the index has closed below its 200-day moving average.

The S&P 500 also closed barely above the low close from February 8 which was 2,581.00. We came within one point of that.

The index is now more than 10% below the high close from January 26. That’s the official mark of a correction. We had been there before, but now we’re back.
