Inflation Hits Six-Year High

This morning, the government reported on consumer inflation for the month of June. The CPI rose by 0.1% last month and is up 2.9% over the last twelve months. That’s the fastest rate since 2012.

The core rate rose by 0.2% and is up 2.3% in the last twelve months. Here’s the Fed funds rate based off of core inflation:
