Small-Caps Near All-Time High

After lagging for the first part of this year, small-cap stocks have been popular lately. Here’s a chart showing the S&P 500 (blue) along with the Russell 2000 (red). The Russell is close to hitting a new all-time high today.

Even though the Russell is near a new high while the S&P 500 is not, the Russell has still lagged the S&P 500 over the past few years. The Russell/S&P Ratio peaked on March 4, 2014. That ended 15 years of outperformance.
